Full Circle Willow is a basket willow farm sharing the nursery at Wild Mountain. Full Circle is researching cultivars and planting styles, centering ecology in all creative problem-solving, learning as we go.
Working with the seasons, Full Circle Willow harvests in winter dormancy, cures and dries the rods over the course of the year, plants and weaves living willow structures in early Spring, and weaves wattle fences with green willow in Spring.
Weaving throughout the year all manner of baskets, beautiful and useful objects, we are most honored to weave custom willow coffins for green burial.
Commercialism, with its system of convenience over compassion has manufactured many mountains worth of garbage that will outlast all of us and impart its toxic legacy for time to come.
Fostering a relationship with the useful-objects we interact with and utilize every day in which we care about the life story of that object: where did it come from? who made it and how? is it supporting my life or polluting it? what will become of it once I no longer want it?

The willow comes from a community land trust, grown sustainably, sequestering carbon, preventing excess water run off down hill, stabilizing the ground, creating habitat for insects, birds, toads, snakes, and more.
There is connection to timeless lineages when weaving, bridging ancient and modern in beautiful functionality with deep respect for the earth.
Willow objects can last lifetimes depending on how they are used and cared for.
A willow coffin can be blanket storage at the foot of the bed, or a coffee table until needed, and when lowered in the ground, will rot away completely within around 3 years, leaving no waste – every molecule repurposed in support of continued life.
Willow embodies longevity and ephemerality, strength and suppleness, uprightness, flexibility and flow. 🌿
